Terms and Conditions

These terms explain how we work together, how billing works and what you can expect.

Please read them before accepting services.
1. About us
The Neurospicy Assistant is a UK-based remote life-admin support service operated by Jessica Brown, trading as The Neurospicy Assistant. Contact: admin@theneurospicyassistant.com.
“We” means the service provider and “you” means the client.
2. Services
We offer agreed administrative support such as inbox organisation, appointment booking, calendars, reminders, chasing organisations, forms, correspondence, file organisation and body doubling. The scope, deadlines and any spending limits are agreed with you before work starts. We do not provide medical, legal, financial or other regulated professional advice or emergency services.
3. Starting work
Before starting, we agree your support needs, fees, communication preferences and any necessary authorisations. You may need to complete a welcome form and a separate consent/authorisation form. We will not access accounts or contact third parties on your behalf without appropriate permission.
4. Fees and Invoicing
Our hourly rate is £25 per hour, with a minimum charge of one hour (£25) per booking.
Any additional time beyond the first hour is billed in 15-minute increments (£6.25 each), rounded up to the next 15 minutes.
We track all authorised work, including agreed administrative tasks, necessary research, third-party correspondence and agreed client updates.
Initial consultations are free unless a charge has been clearly agreed beforehand.
An invoice will be issued upon completion of the agreed job or booking, with payment due within 14 calendar days of the invoice date.
Any additional third-party costs or expenses will always be discussed and agreed with you before they are incurred.
Any future changes to our hourly rate will be communicated in advance and will not affect work already completed.
5. Client responsibilities
Please give accurate information, relevant instructions, timely responses and any required access. You remain responsible for important personal decisions and for reviewing documents or submissions where requested. We will accommodate agreed communication needs wherever reasonably possible.
6. Consent and account access
We only act within the authority you give us. We will ask before making purchases, signing up to services, submitting important applications or disclosing sensitive information where authorisation is needed. You can withdraw permission at any time, although this may prevent us completing a task. Never send passwords, PINs or security codes by ordinary email; we will agree on a secure method of access.
7. Privacy and confidentiality
We handle personal information confidentially and use appropriate security measures. Our separate Privacy Notice explains the purposes and lawful bases for processing, retention, sharing and your rights. We may disclose information where required or permitted by law.
8. Availability and communication
We agree on preferred contact methods and reasonable response expectations during onboarding. We do not provide 24/7 or emergency support. We will try to notify you promptly if illness, holidays or unforeseen circumstances affect agreed deadlines.
9. Ending ongoing support
You may ask to pause or end ongoing work at any time. Charges for authorised work already completed and approved third-party costs remain payable, subject to statutory rights. We may suspend or end work for unpaid invoices, missing authorisation, unlawful requests or serious inappropriate behaviour, giving reasonable notice where possible.

10. Consumer Cancellation Rights

If you are an individual purchasing our services for personal use, you will generally have the right to cancel a distance or off-premises service contract within 14 days after the day the contract is made, without giving a reason.

To cancel, simply email admin@theneurospicyassistant.com or send us a clear statement confirming your decision. You may use the model cancellation form provided, but you do not have to.

Starting work within the 14-day period

We will not begin providing services during the cancellation period unless you expressly request an earlier start.

If you request that work begins during this period and subsequently cancel, you may be required to pay a proportionate amount for services already provided, provided the applicable legal requirements have been met.

If the agreed service has been fully completed following your express request to begin early, and you have acknowledged that you will lose your cancellation right once the service is fully performed, your statutory cancellation right for that completed service will end.

Any refund due will be issued within 14 days of receiving your cancellation notice, using the original payment method unless otherwise agreed.

These rights are separate from our standard appointment cancellation and rescheduling policy. Nothing in these terms affects your statutory consumer rights.

11. Third parties and deadlines
We use reasonable care and skill but cannot guarantee appointment availability, responses, approvals or decisions by external organisations. We will communicate known issues and take reasonable steps to address delays.
12. Liability and consumer rights
We are responsible where the law makes us responsible for failing to provide services with reasonable care and skill or for breach of contract. Nothing excludes liability for fraud, death or personal injury caused by negligence, or any other liability that cannot lawfully be excluded. Nothing limits your rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015.
13. Respect and complaints
We aim to provide inclusive, non-judgmental support and ask for respectful communication in return. For complaints, email admin@theneurospicyassistant.com. We aim to acknowledge within five working days and provide a substantive response within 14 working days or explain any delay.
14. Changes and governing law
We may update these terms for future services. Material changes affecting an existing agreement will be notified in advance and agreed where required. These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, without removing mandatory consumer protections applicable to you.
